Class Descriptions

Restorative – All yoga postures have a restorative quality. In this class the emphasis is on a relaxing inward focus instead of the more physically demanding approach. This class is appropriate for all levels.

Level 1 – The whole scope of the principles of Iyengar yoga is taught through the regular practice of standing poses, shoulder stand and other basic postures. It is recommended that the student study at this level for 1 year. This class is ideal for the beginner or those new to Iyengar yoga.

Level 1 & 2- This class is is appropriate for beginners but will also have intermediate students attending. The instructor will teach what is appropriate depending on the level of the students in the class.

Level 2 - An in-depth study of the standing poses is explored and shoulder stand and its variations are practiced regularly. Seated forward bends, backbends, and headstand are introduced. This class is not for beginners.

Level 3 - More advanced poses will be explored for students who are confident with arm balance, headstand and shoulderstand. Students are expected to know how to manage their own limitations. Instructors permission is required to attend this class.

Mommy & Me -  An opportunity to bond with your baby and meet other new moms. Also techniques to lessen stress and release tension in the upper back will be taught. Moms should be 2 months postpartum.

Kids -- Children learn through play and in this class they will learn yoga poses by pretending to be animals and parts of nature.   This class will teach them to breath deeply, relax, and be healthy.  Children should be at least 7 years old.
